Welcome to EPOC!

The El Paso Outdoor Center was founded in 2026, to support El Paso’s incredible outdoor community with information and resources. EPOC has guidebooks available for purchase and hiking courses available for free, and is looking to expand programming and activities soon.

Guidebooks

EPOC has a series of guidebooks focused on making hikes more accessible in El Paso and building outdoor skills for hikers around El Paso. Current titles include “Paper Trails” (which focuses on no-phone navigation during hikes) and “Public Lands by Public Transport” (which is a guide of how to take the bus system to go hiking).

If you have more ideas/requests for guidebooks (or would be interested in helping translate a guidebook into Spanish), please get in touch!

Hikes/Courses

EPOC courses are focused on outdoor skill-building, to help El Paso’s hiking community become safer, more self-reliant, and more empowered in the outdoors. All courses are free of cost, and kid/Family-Friendly courses are available. EPOC also offers specific courses for Scout/youth groups.
